Beachhouse & Thanksgivingweekend!

We spent last weekend in the Beach House, relaxing with some walking tours on the beach, the hot tub, good food and homework. Basically a very comfortable weekend :)

The last couple of weeks have been busy with school and swim practice, since I made the swimteam! It's hard practice, one and a half hour every day - but at least it's getting me going :)

Wednesday was a half school day since we had early dismissal because of Thanksgiving. We celebrated thanksgiving at Becca & Brooks' house in Northern Virginia, with the rest of the family. It was nice with some days of off school! Thursday we had Thanksgiving dinner with Turkey and all the good stuffing as Green-bean casserole, sweet-potatoes, red cabbage, cranberry sauce, cheesecake, salad etc.

We didn't go shopping Black Friday, but went to Washington D.C and did a scavenger hunt there. Basically a whole bunch of clues we had to follow around in the city, and thereby got to see many new places. D.C is a HUGE city! Saturday morning we drove up to Pennsylvania to eat lunch with Papa and some more family on a restaurant called "The Cottage". On our way home "the girls" went shopping in an outlet. Since christmas is coming up it's time to start thinking about presents, even though it's a bit early if you ask me! :) We returned to Becca & Brooks' at 11.00 pm, and I went straight to bed after a long day...
Sunday morning, Ida and I tried to make a danish-swedish inspired breakfast with hard/soft-boiled eggs, open-face sandwiches, safronrolls ect. People seemed to like it so I guess that was a success. We also celebrated Christmas with Becca & Brooks since they are not gonna be here the 25th. Before lunch we dragged some chairs to the lake near their house and took some family pictures for our holiday-christmas card.
The trip home was 5 hours long since we were stuck in traffic! Dinner ended up being drive-through at Wendy's and we were home at 7.30 pm.

Next week I have school, practice and friday we have our first swim-meet/competition! I'm a little bit nervous though. Also we have a couple of christmas party's coming up in a few weeks - can't wait! :D

The huge christmas package
I received from my lovely family

Raleigh, Election & Winter sport try-outs!

So, this last weekend we spent, as I mentioned in my previous post, in Raleigh, North Carolina. We visited our host brother Andrew and his cute dog Bosco, where Ida and I stayed at his apartment with the dogs while Mom & Dad were staying at a hotel. When we first came there Saturday, we went to a Sports bar where we enjoyed the Florida Gator-game (the family's team) and a delicious lunch. I ate way too much!
In the evening we went to a unique restaurant called "The big easy" and enjoyed a nice meal there as well. After that, we went to Andrews place and spent the rest of the evening watching movies - old classic. The dogs slept in our room = we woke up way too early... We met up with Mom and Dad in The State Park and went for a little hike - beautiful nature! Though all that, the very best thing about the whole weekend, was the brunch we had at "BUKU". There was everything you could ask for - amazing!

This Tuesday everything was, surprisingly enough, revolving around The Presidential Election. I found it very exciting to talk to different people and hear what their view and opinion is. Since the campaigns were gone crazy up till, hundreds of people were standing in lines to the polling place. Obviously the time you would stand in line varied, depended on what time you went there. Some people 3 hours, other people 5 min! I didn't take either of the party's site, but tried to just observe.

This week there is also try-outs for the winter sports. It has been a really confusing week for me, since I wasn't really sure about what sport I was gonna do. FRUSTRATING!!! I had Baskett-ball, Swimming and Indoor track in mind, and have so far tried out for both swimming and Basket-ball. BUT I STILL DON'T KNOW! :( - I guess I will have to figure something out and inform you guys in my next post...
