The last couple of weeks have been busy with school and swim practice, since I made the swimteam! It's hard practice, one and a half hour every day - but at least it's getting me going :)
Wednesday was a half school day since we had early dismissal because of Thanksgiving. We celebrated thanksgiving at Becca & Brooks' house in Northern Virginia, with the rest of the family. It was nice with some days of off school! Thursday we had Thanksgiving dinner with Turkey and all the good stuffing as Green-bean casserole, sweet-potatoes, red cabbage, cranberry sauce, cheesecake, salad etc.
We didn't go shopping Black Friday, but went to Washington D.C and did a scavenger hunt there. Basically a whole bunch of clues we had to follow around in the city, and thereby got to see many new places. D.C is a HUGE city! Saturday morning we drove up to Pennsylvania to eat lunch with Papa and some more family on a restaurant called "The Cottage". On our way home "the girls" went shopping in an outlet. Since christmas is coming up it's time to start thinking about presents, even though it's a bit early if you ask me! :) We returned to Becca & Brooks' at 11.00 pm, and I went straight to bed after a long day...
Sunday morning, Ida and I tried to make a danish-swedish inspired breakfast with hard/soft-boiled eggs, open-face sandwiches, safronrolls ect. People seemed to like it so I guess that was a success. We also celebrated Christmas with Becca & Brooks since they are not gonna be here the 25th. Before lunch we dragged some chairs to the lake near their house and took some family pictures for our holiday-christmas card.
The trip home was 5 hours long since we were stuck in traffic! Dinner ended up being drive-through at Wendy's and we were home at 7.30 pm.
Next week I have school, practice and friday we have our first swim-meet/competition! I'm a little bit nervous though. Also we have a couple of christmas party's coming up in a few weeks - can't wait! :D
